- presentation of the content of the project
In this project, we have developed a map-based company information service which, through queries taking into consideration spatial aspects, makes it easier and faster for our clients to access business and market information which they have not been able to access so far, or only with geospatial knowledge and software.
Our goal is to expand our current vast data set with spatial information and spatial aspects of the data (e.g.: digital map; WGS84 Geodetic Coordinate and Reference System, also used in GPS measurements) and to provide new business information service opportunities, analytics models and analytics tools build on this.
As a result of the project, in addition to the representation on a map, it also becomes possible to monitor and analyse geographical and regional business trends, as well as the geographical distribution of individual company and owner networks.
The following problems can be solved by our service and system provided by our development:
- flexible spatial search for data of any kind (e.g.: the largest employer in a particular area)
- heat maps which show how specific parameters (e.g.: the amount of intangible assets from the Balance Sheet Database), become more or less frequent at a certain area, that is to say, where can the wealthier or the less wealthy businesses be found.
- processing and displaying of contacts in a geometric network, exploring spatial relationships between various individuals and their associated undertakings, and other individuals and firms, monitoring specific firms in certain areas (e.g.: in relation to claims management).
- Project Completion Date – 31 August 2015
- Project Identification Number - PIAC_13-1-2013-0152
Press Release – 10 September 2015
OPTEN Informatikai Kft. has developed a technology for providing new map-based business information services by way of using tender resources.
OPTEN Informatikai Kft. has won a subsidy in the amount of HUF 212,792,950 within the framework of the PIAC_13 tender program for the development of its new company information service. As a result of the research and development project implemented between 02 January 2014 and 31 August 2015, a map-based company information software was developed by means of which queries taking into consideration spatial aspects can be made efficiently. As a result, users of the tool developed may have easier and faster access to business and market information which they have not been able to access so far, or only with geospatial knowledge and software.
Using the existing company database of OPTEN Informatikai Kft., the new software is able to provide a new and intelligent company information service to its existing and prospective customers by projecting the information on map formats using geographic information system methods. The system enables users to optimize their debt management and other business processes by examining, for example, the spatial distribution of receivables, sales revenue and other financial indicators. The new service provides users with advanced data mining, risk management and company analysis capabilities in both B2C and B2B.
According to the plans of OPTEN Informatikai Kft., by introducing the new software OPTEN Kft. can provide its partners with a complex service which is unique in the market, thus can further increase the satisfaction of its customers. With the introduction of the new service, the company expects to increase its sales revenue significantly and reach new users.

OPTEN Kft. has won a subsidy in the amount of HUF 212,792,950 within the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan with the financing of the Research and Technology Innovation Fund, in the subject of ‘Technology development needed for providing map-based business information services’.
Within the framework of the project, a map-based company information software was developed by means of which queries taking into consideration spatial aspects can be made efficiently. As a result, users of the tool to be developed may have easier and faster access to business and market information which they have not been able to access so far, or only with GIS knowledge and software.
The goal of OPTEN Kft. is to expand their current vast data set with spatial information and spatial aspects of the data (e.g.: digital map; WGS84 Geodetic Coordinate and Reference System, also used in GPS measurements) and to provide new business information service opportunities, analytics models and analytics tools build on this.
The technology enables spatial data-based flexible searches, such as the exploration and ranking of the largest employers in a given area. In addition, the analysis of the sales and profit condensation of the companies belonging to particular clusters will be made available by means of spatial thermal mapping. The tool can, among other things, support the geographic exploration of company-company and company-to-person contacts and the optimization of claims management processes by way of analysing of the spatial distribution of receivables.
The world-class geographic information system based support is provided for the development by ESRI Magyarország Kft. with their international background and experience.
